A. Le Coq Arena, Tallinn, Estonia.
Sunday 13th October 2019.
Kick-off: 20:45 (CET time).
UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying Group C.
TV: RTL, ETV 2
Germany’s next Euro 2020 qualifier takes place in the picturesque city of Tallinn. This will be the first match between the two countries on Estonian soil since 1939. Estonia have been the whipping boys of Group C, losing all but one of their games so far. Unfortunately, another loss is on the cards here, and the Estonians will settle for limiting Germany to a one or two-goal victory. If you think Estonia can give Germany a good game, you can get odds of 21.00 for a surprise draw. They were comprehensively beaten 8-0 in Germany and will be determined to avoid another humiliating loss, but they should fare better in front of their home crowd. Veteran defender Ragnar Klavan is the only notable player for Estonia; the former Liverpool man currently plays for Cagliari in Serie A.
German team news
Germany have won all but one of their group games so far and victory here will put them in a strong position to qualify. With the Netherlands and Northern Ireland breathing down their necks, they can’t afford to slip up against the group’s weakest team. Serge Gnabry is in excellent form for Bayern Munich after scoring 4 goals in the Champions League against Tottenham. He also has an excellent goalscoring record for Germany with 10 goals in 11 games, recently adding to his tally in the friendly against Argentina on Wednesday evening and he will be looking to grab himself a goal here too. Gnabry is 3.20 on STS to get the first goal in the game. The biggest talking point for the Germans will be deciding their number one goalkeeper. Ter Stegen will be wanting to oust Manuel Neuer as Germany’s goalkeeper heading into Euro 2020 and the starting lineup in Estonia may give us an insight into Joachim Low’s preferred choice.
Germany will have most of the ball in this match and will be peppering the Estonian goal throughout. Don’t expect too many Estonian chances and they will have to be clinical if they are to get anything out of this match. Estonia will be looking at set-pieces and counter-attacks to score goals and create chances. Estonia are at 2.97 to grab 1 goal in the game.
In what is expected to be a comfortable German victory, our betting tip is for Germany to score over 0.5 goals in the first 15 minutes with odds of 2.21.
