This weekend’s biggest match is the second Milan derby of the season between Inter and AC Milan.
Back to winning ways
After three league draws in a row, Inter got back on track in the title race after a 0-2 win at Udinese last week. The stats look good for Inter ahead of the Milan derby. They’ve won their previous three matches against AC Milan in Serie A, including a 2-0 win in September. Romelu Lukaku scored in that match, and he is at odds of 2.05 to score again.
It has been a dreadful decade for AC Milan. They’ve not won a Serie A title since the 2010/11 season and find themselves out of the Champions League. To make matters worse; they’ve not beaten Inter in the league since January 2016. However, they are in good form at the moment, and they are unbeaten in all competitions in 2020 with five wins from seven matches. The return of former striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic seems to have rejuvenated them somewhat. Can he inspire the Rossoneri to victory against inter? He is at 2.67 to score at any point during the derby.
Inter are the obvious favourites for this one. A loss here will put a severe dent in their title aspirations. A win for AC could see them go on a run to gain a CL spot despite being seven points behind the fourth-placed team. This match will be tense and a lot closer compared to the game earlier in the season with one goal deciding it. Inter Milan made a few additions in the January transfer market - former Tottenham player Christian Eriksen being the standout signing. Will the new signings gel quickly and take Inter to the title or will they upset the rhythm of the established playing style that has got them this far? Inter have gone on to win the title on each of the four previous occasions they have found themselves with 51 or more points after 22 matches played. Inter Milan are currently at odds of 4.50 to pip Juventus to the title.
Inter: Stefano Sensi and Roberto Gagliardini.
AC Milan: Lucas Biglia.
We think AC Milan will make it more difficult for Inter in this encounter. However, our betting tip is for Inter Milan to win and both to score at odds of 3.32.
