Two title contenders Lazio and Inter Milan play a crucial match this weekend in the race for the Scudetto.
Lazio have been silently going about their business when most media outlets have been talking about Inter and Juventus being the contenders for the title. They have joined the title race by scoring for fun and being resolute in defence. The Biancocelesti are now one point behind Juventus and Inter. Lazio have a superior goal difference to their title rivals and their previous loss in the league was the reverse fixture against this weekend’s opponents Inter Milan back in September. Lazio are currently at odds of 2.36 to win this weekend’s match against Inter Milan.
A mixed bag
Inter suffered a setback during the week - losing their semi-final Coppa Italia match on Wednesday against Napoli. However, they will still be on a high after a 4-2 win against local rivals AC Milan after being 0-2 down. Inter will have the confidence of not only their Milan derby comeback but their win against Lazio in September. Danilo D’Ambrosio scored the only goal of that game, and he’s at 13.00 to score again during the match.
Lazio boast the Serie A assist leader in Luis Alberto, and the top scorer in the league as Ciro Immobile already has 25 goals so far in this campaign. Immobile is at 1.91 to add to his goalscoring tally in this match. Both teams are high in confidence, and this match could be a major turning point in the title race. Both favour a 3-5-2 formation, and it’s unlikely we will see any changes on that front for this match. Both sides cancelled each other out in September’s fixture, and a similar outcome is likely to occur in this match too. Lazio will be fresh for this match as they didn’t have to play during the week and they are at home - making them slight favourites for this one. An end-to-end game will favour Lazio as they will have the legs to keep up with the pace of the game.
Ciro Immobile: The top scorer in Serie A; Lazio fans will hope he can continue his goalscoring form against Inter this weekend.
Romelu Lukaku: The top scorer for the Nerazzurri this season with 17 goals. He sealed Inter’s comeback last week, and he is at 5.10 to be the last goalscorer again.
Inter: Roberto Gagliardini.
In a match that could see Inter tire by the end - our betting tip is a drawn first half and Lazio to win the second half at odds of 5.80.
