Red Bull Arena, Leipzig, Germany.
Saturday 20th June 2020.
Kick-off: 15:30 (CEST).
Draws have been the bane of Leipzig’s campaign this season; they’ve amassed a whopping 12 so far — the most in the league along with Schalke. In their previous match, they suffered a collapse at the end against relegation battlers Dusseldorf. They were 2-0 up and ended up drawing 2-2. A Leipzig win here is currently at odds of 2.27, and a victory will guarantee them a place in next season’s Champions League.
Nothing to play for
Dortmund were even worse in their match at home to Mainz on Wednesday evening. They lost 0-2 to a team that are also relegation candidates. Due to the lack of fans and a Champions League spot already secured, it appears that they have taken their foot off the pedal. Dortmund are at 2.95 to bounce back and defeat Leipzig.
Hopefully, this match will be as dramatic as the one earlier in the season at Signal Iduna Park. Dortmund and Leipzig played out a thrilling 3-3 draw in which Leipzig were 2-0 down after 45 minutes. New Chelsea signing Timo Werner scored two goals in that match, and he’s at 4.75 to grab a brace again. Leipzig still have a Champions League spot to secure and will be more invested in this match compared to their opponents. Dortmund will want to finish ahead of Leipzig in the league and fans of the side will be hoping that the midweek performance was just a blip.
Injury and suspensions
RB Leipzig: Yussuf Poulsen.
Borussia Dortmund: Dan-Axel Zagadou, Marco Reus, Mahmoud Dahoud, Thomas Delaney, Manuel Akanji and Giovanni Reina.
Both sides are strong going forward and shaky at the back, so a few goals should be expected. Our betting tip is for this match to have over 3.5 goals at odds of 2.40.
