This weekend’s biggest Serie A clash sees Roma at home to Napoli.

Injury-ravaged Roma

Both sides have made stuttering starts to their league campaigns, and they can’t afford to lose or draw many more games if they are to challenge Juventus for the Serie A title. Juve are already eight points ahead of Napoli and seven of Roma. Roma have quite the injury crisis; they even took Sunderland and Blackburn reject Jack Rodwell on trial last week. However, it certainly didn’t affect them in midweek; they thrashed Udinese 0-4 with ten men on the pitch for the last hour. If you think Roma will get four or more goals again; they are currently at odds of 8.80 to score over 3.5 goals.

Sluggish Napoli

Napoli have been the closest challengers to Juventus' domination of Serie A over the past few seasons with a runners-up spot in the previous two seasons, but have made a slow start to their campaign. They need to go on a long winning streak to have a chance of usurping Juventus. Napoli are 9.00 to break the Juventus stranglehold on Serie A.

This should be an even match, both teams have made similar starts to the season, however, Napoli won at the Stadio Olimpico last time out with a 4-1 win, could this match still be on the minds of both teams? Napoli will want to dominate the weakened midfield of Roma and can find themselves fortunate that one of the league’s best teams have so many injuries when they are set to play.

Betting Tip

With Roma having an injury crisis, Napoli should win this game even though they are close to each other in the league. Expect Roma to make it tougher than last season’s match in Rome, but we think that Napoli will get an away win at odds of 2.46.

Injury news

Roma: Bryan Cristante, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Nikola Kalinic, Cengiz Ünder, Davide Zappacosta, Amadou Diawara and Henrikh Mkhitaryan
