Tour de France Preview

📅 Saturday 29th August 2020 - Sunday 20th September 2020.

📺 How to watch the Tour de France?

The delayed 2020 Tour de France is finally here, and we will take a look at the leading contenders for the yellow jersey!

Egan Bernal

Bernal is the defending champion after winning last year’s tour ahead of the 2018 winner Geraint Thomas. Don’t be surprised to see him wearing the famous yellow jersey again once everything is said and done, especially since Thomas and four-time winner Chris Froome are not here this year.

Egan Bernal is currently at 3.25 to win the Tour de France.

Primož Roglič

Roglič and Bernal are seen as the two standout favourites for this year’s tour. The Slovenian finished third in last year’s edition and also won the 2019 Vuelta a España. He obviously has the ability to win a grand tour, and he’ll be hoping that this is the year.

Primož Roglic is the current favourite at odds of 3.00.

Thibaut Pinot

The home favourite Pinot is looking to become the first Frenchman to win a Tour de France since the legendary Bernard Hinault in 1985. He has won stages here before and has been in solid if unspectacular form this year. He has a great chance of a podium finish, but a win could be too much for him.

Thibaut Pinot is at 6.50 to win the 2020 Tour de France.

Tadej Pogacar

Tipped to be a future winner; this one may be too soon for him to win, but he has a good chance of a podium finish. He managed a podium finish in last year’s Vuelta, but due to his age; it’s difficult to see how he will fare here. At 21, he will have plenty of opportunities to take the yellow jersey home.

You can get odds of 15.00 for a Tadej Pogocar win.

Tom Dumoulin

Dumoulin has only just returned to cycling after a year out, but the 2018 runner-up and former Giro d’Italia winner is still one of the favourites to win the general classification section. However, he probably hasn’t had enough practice to contend.

He’s at 6.50 to win this year’s tour.

Richard Carapaz

This will surprisingly be the first Tour de France for Carapaz. He impressively won the 2019 Giro ahead of more well-known opponents. He is on the same team as Egan Bernal, which will likely limit his opportunities to win. However, if anything happens to Bernal, Carapaz is more than capable of filling in or taking over leading duties should Bernal’s form desert him.

You can back Richard Carapaz to win the 2020 Tour at odds of 13.00.
